The Mosey marks our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Thanks for supporting us during our first year of business! We’ve enjoyed meeting everybody and look forward to many more years of downtown bookselling fun.
TO CELEBRATE: From Friday, June 8 through Sunday, June 10, we’re having a YEAR 1 SALE! All Out of Print shirts are only $20. All Romance books are only $2 each. All World of Darkness RPG books are 20% off. All Board Games are 15% off. The Robots & Rogues tote bags are $1 off (and they come with a $1 coupon!) OR get one FREE with a purchase of $30 or more! We’ve had a massive influx of new books in the past couple of weeks, so be sure to swing by this weekend to celebrate our anniversary with us!
As always, during the Mosey, we’ll be holding a raffle for some great prizes. We’re not quite sure what wonderful swag we’ll be giving away yet, so keep checking our Facebook page and your email inbox (if you’re on our list) for updates!

“Your Friendly Neighborhood Robot Factory” by Kat & Kyle Granat
Kat and Kyle have quested deep into the super secret sub-basement R&D department of Your Friendly Neighborhood Robot Factory to bring you this exclusive viewing of their robots. The hazards were many, and at one point they faced near-certain death to expose these cutting edge robot designs to the light of day. Please enjoy the fruits (or rather robots) of their labor.
Kyle and Kat Granat are interactive artists from Northwest Indiana. Their work seeks to fuse art, craft and technology seamlessly into something that is approachable to everyone. They have been partnering together since 2008.

Join us at the Historic Monon Depot Theatre for coffee and conversation.
At these events, Civic staff, Board Members, Volunteers, or invited guests will lead a series of discussions involving the theatre. The June 10th conversation will deal with Civic Theatre’s extensive educational activities. Civic Director of Education and Outreach will lead the discussion, reporting on activities that many in Civic’s audience are possibly unaware. She will also use the opportunity to learn from the audience what additional educational activities would be of interest.
How do you select your shows? What classes do you offer for adults? What long-term plans do you have for the Monon Depot Theatre?
These questions and many more will be addressed in the continuing series at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette called Coffee and Conversation. Several times a year all interested parties can converge on Civic Theatre for coffee – provided by series sponsor K. Dees Coffee and Roasting Company – and lively conversations about the state of the theatre.
June 10 – Civic Education, classes and camps, a conversation on what our stakeholders would like to see for adults, and other ideas for youth. Lori Portner will discuss what we currently do, plans for the new year to add senior theatre programs, and a discussion of “what else?”
Come to Pride Lafayette and show your support for the transgender community at Pride Lafayette on June 10th at 3:00 pm. We will be discussing many different issues revolving around the transgender community. Whether you are transgender or an ally, you are welcome to come as you are. Discrimination is not welcome. Hope to see everyone there.
June 15 at 11:30am. $75 per golfer or $300 for foursome. Includes lunch and dinner. Call 765-471-8899 to register. Proceeds benefit YWCA Women’s Cancer Program.
The first thing that hits you when you see Christabel & the Jons is lead singer/songwriter Christa DeCicco’s velvety, effortless voice. Sultry, southern, and laid back, her delivery and stage presence often draws comparisons to Billie Holiday, Madeleine Peyroux, and Norah Jones. While the similarities are there, she’s also developed a sound that’s all her own, with earthy melodies that glide along with her 1950s Silvertone archtop guitar. Currently touring the country from coast to coast, she is quickly solidifying her reputation as one of the country’s finest up and coming folk/jazz singers. Multi-instrumentalist Seth Hopper adds colorful ambiance to the songs with his virtuoso assortment of violin, mandolin, trumpet, and accordion. The snappy rhythm section is led by Jon Whitlock on drums with Chris Zuhr on upright bass. The group mixes their original songs with thoughtfully arranged jazz standards, western swing, and classic country for a sound they call “Tennessee swing.”
The Lafayette Theater would like to thank you for your continued support!
